QUINCY, Ill. (AP) — A jury Wednesday convicted a former contestant on the television game show “Family Feud” of first-degree murder and home invasion in the slaying of his estranged wife in western Illinois.Timothy Bliefnick, 40, was found guilty in the Feb. 23 shooting death of Rebecca Bliefnick.The Adams County Circuit Court jury in Quincy deliberated about four hours after Timothy Bliefnick did not testify and the defense did not call any evidence. Adams County sheriff's deputies took Bliefnick into custody immediately after the verdict was read.Bliefnick is scheduled to be sentenced Aug. 11The body of Rebecca Bliefnick, 41, was found by a family member inside her Quincy home after she failed to pick up her children from school. Katie Nyberg has been named executive director of the Great River Passage Conservancy.Nyberg, a former founding executive director of the Mississippi Park Connection, has 20 years of experience and knowledge of the conservancy. She also has been an active partner on the Mississippi River Learning Center project.She begins her new post on July 5.“I am thrilled to be continuing the important work of engaging community and creating opportunity around our greatest natural asset – the Mississippi River,” Nyberg said in a statement. “I look forward to making our shared vision of how we reconnect with the river a reality through the many transformative projects and programs the Conservancy champions.”As executive director of the Mississippi Park Connection, Nyberg was involved with building the nonprofit which partners with the National Park Service to help connect young people to the river. CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- On Tuesday, New York State Police arrested two individuals following a traffic stop on I-87 in Clifton Park. Natalie A. Davis, 29, of Hinesburg, Vermont, and Raymond K. According to police, the traffic stop was conducted around 10:07 p.m. for Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. Davis, who was driving the vehicle was in an impaired state. Fernandez provided police with false identifying information. ST. LOUIS - A child was rushed to a St. Louis hospital Thursday with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.According to Sgt. Charles Wall, a spokesman for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the incident occurred in the 3100 block of Brantner Place, located in the Jeff-Vander-Lou neighborhood.The child suffered a head wound, Wall said. There's been no additional update on the child's condition.Police are not certain of the child's age, but believe he is a pre-teen.This is a developing story. CLAYTON, Mo. - A man from Norwood Court, a north St. Louis County municipality, is accused of stalking an ex-partner and refusing to leave her property on multiple occasions.According to a report filed by the Hazelwood Police Department, Andre Ware was served an order of protection on May 17, filed by a former intimate partner.The following day, Ware allegedly showed up at the woman's residence in the 8600 block of Morning Aire Circle in Hazelwood. He rang her doorbell several times, then walked to her backyard and sat on the porch. He stayed there until police arrived and took him into custody.Ware had previously gone to the woman's home on May 13 and May 17, and refused to leave her back porch. He could be seen attempting to cover a Ring video camera to hide his identity. WENTZVILLE, Mo. -- The law enforcement torch run for the Missouri Special Olympics is in the St. Louis area today. They were recently in Jefferson City before the games this weekend.Runners will be on westbound I-70 from Lake St. Louis to Highway 61 at around noon.
